Wireless VoIP
Using the existing or new wireless connection to deliver voice or connect the telephone switches between offices is a well-proven solution.
Voice is run across the data connection for one main reason – cost. The user saves the substantial cost of telephone lines to one or several offices.
Our Voice Over IP (VoIP) solutions can be used as part of point-to-point and point-to-multi-point connections. Typically there are three types.
- The Voice over IP (VoIP) protocol runs over an existing or new wireless IP link, which presents a single RJ-45 Ethernet at either end of the link, to a switch. In this case, the a VoIP will be managed by the customer as part of the voice network
- A hardware gateway is installed at each end of the IP data wireless link to convert the IP from the wireless link to a voice protocol
- Where the Voice over IP (VoIP) interface is presented as a separate interface
on the wireless equipment at each end of the link. The two protocols are
multiplexed (muxed) across the radio connection.
For example. The Indoor unit of one of our 5.8GHz OFDM radio links presents one RJ-45 for 10/100 Ethernet plus one RG-11 socket for E1 voice
